Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED fog pod light with bracket. This three inch LED fog pod light will give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. This is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking at upgrading the fog lights on your vehicle. And as you can see, I do have this connected to my power source and I do have the bracket installed on the light itself just to show you what this is going to look like when it's installed. And let me go ahead and retrieve another bracket here.

And this is a bracket that has obviously not been installed on the light, but this is going to be a very easy installation anywhere on your vehicle. This is an aluminum U bracket. And the hardware, this, is all included with this light. And what's nice about the U bracket is it is going to let you adjust the angle of the light. And once you get that angle that you're looking for in the bracket, then you're just gonna tighten it down with the included hardware that you see there.

Now this fog pattern is going to give you a high intensity light in an extremely wide field of view. So I'm gonna go ahead and zoom out here just to give you a better look at just how bright this light is in low light conditions. But I think a better demonstration is gonna be for me to turn this light and shine it on the wall behind me. So you see that that fog beam pattern and you see how wide it is. So that's gonna really give you a lot of visibility.

This light color, this light rather has a color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin. So this cool white color is going to do a great job of matching most of your factory lights. This is a very crisp color, so again, it's going to really aid in your visibility, especially through that fog. So let me go ahead and turn my lights back on. I'm gonna go ahead and turn the power off so I'm not continuing to blind you with this light.

Now this does have a raw lumen rating of 5,796 lumens. It has a measured lumen rating of 3,000 lumens and a peak beam intensity of 11,900 candela. Now candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining at all directions. Now this does have a power draw of 2.7 amps, and this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So this is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose up to about 10% of that light just from its shining through that lens. So by making it as part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency. Now this does include the factory, I'm sorry, the industry standard rather integrated Deutsche style connector. And I do happen to have one of those right here that's disconnected. So you see that Deutsche style connector on this pigtail. And so that's gonna be a very easy plugin operation and it'll click firmly in place. And this also has a breather patch right here at the back of the light that's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then the heat sinks here on the back housing of this light. They're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to prolong the or increase rather the longevity of this light. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips. It does feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. That heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And just an interesting point, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now just some overall measurements, measuring the width from end to end, we're sitting right at about three and a quarter inches, and the height is gonna be the same, three and a quarter inches tall end to end. And then with this bracket installed as I have it here, that's going to add a little bit more height. So from the top of our light all the way to the base of our bracket, we're gonna be sitting right at about three and three quarters inches tall. And then the overall depth from the front of our light to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting at about two and three eighths inches deep. Now this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you are not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna make sure that you're using wire that's sized at 16 gauge or larger.
